Community News|

After speaking to many of you in the community I have heard some hard questions.

How do you plan to fix the roads? How do we deal with our infrastructure shortfall? Will you want to increase taxes? What would you change? What are your feelings about the importance of the art community? What will you do for families?

I am so happy people are out there asking these questions because they are what I think about regularly. Listening and attending council meetings has shown me we do have work to do. First to focus basics so we are prepared for the future.

We are nearing the time for our 5 year review of the Official Community Plan (OCP). This document lays out the long term vision of the community and should consider the inputs of all community members.

Focusing on the basics while keeping that long term vision of the community in mind is what Lake Country needs.

I also hear a lot about things that are needed for families to enjoy and use all year round. A place for everyone, from young adults to families. Where do you spend your time or gather in Lake Country?

I have put forward some ideas on how we can move the vision I have heard from you. Have a look and see what you think: https://triciabrett.ca/platform/

It’s time to chat Lake Country what do you want to see?
